Suggested Features

This list is for suggested features. Please post your suggestions in this list and not in the Coming Features list. When Runbox decides to include a Suggested Feature it will be moved to the Coming Features list.

  1. Additional Mailboxes
Runbox should consider offering additional mailboxes for a single account. This could be different from aliases and sub-accounts.There should be pooled storage where, users can allot separate login for each mailbox and allot email and file storage for same. Each mailbox can be charged at an nominal price like 9.95 and could be allowed for those hosting their own domains with Runbox. This would be convenient for setting up family or small business accounts.
  2. Ability to synchronize your Runbox Address Book with your Email Client
  3. Improved Spam Handling
Ability to train spam by one's mail client and automatically whitelist recepients of sent messages.
  4. Bookmark manager
There are many open source social bookmarks available, Runbox could integrate one of them into their service.
  5. Backup (Secondary) MX
Hosting your own domain email conveniently is the salient feature for Runbox as of now. Why not work on this further? Providing a backup MX might be one way to make sure that one always has access to your mailbox like this.
  6. Backup Option
Every single mail sent or received in a Runbox account is sent to another email account as backup. This option is available through webmail where sent messages are backed up through Bcc but not when one is using an email client.
  7. Automatic whitelisting of recipient addresses.
  8. Signature option on replies and forwards
  9. Labels or Tagging for emails like in Zimbra.
  10. Improved Drafts handling: The ability to (automatically) save Drafts without being redirected to the Drafts folder, and the removal of drafts that are sent.
  11. WebDAV access to the file storage as an alternative to FTP. This would make it very convenient for the Mac users.
  12. Public web storage: This could have a size/bandwidth limit (i.e. it wouldn't be meant for sharing realy large files). One could use it to post big attachments on the web, share their calendars, have a simple home page etc.
  13. Improve aliases: Aliases should be available from the composition window without needing to set a default from address for a mail folder and other such step. All aliases should be automatically available in the composition window as soon as the alias has been created, and should become immediately unavailable as soon as an alias is removed. As well, an alias should be usable in the same manner as a normal email address for MTA's. All the extra steps for sending mail from an alias need to be removed.
  14. Improve autocomplete function: Autocomplete in Compose could show email address next to the nickname so that there's no doubt as to the recipient address.
  15. Multi-message forwarding: The ability to forward multiple messages in one operation.
