To sign up for Runbox, please go to Runbox Signup and follow the instructions.

Your Account Information is strictly confidential, as stated in our Privacy Policy.

Required Information

When the Sign Up screen appears, you are asked to provide us with some basic information.

Username

First, select your preferred username. The username you select will be the first part of your email address. If your preferred username is already taken, other suggestions will be generated based on your initial choice. You can either select one of these, or try another username altogether.

Please note that your username is not case sensitive, must be between 3 and 30 characters long, cannot contain spaces, and can only contain lower case letters (a-z), numbers (0-9), hyphens (-), underscores (_), and periods (.). We discourage you from starting or ending your username with a period sign.

We recommend using usernames with at least 5 carachters and preferably one or two numeric numbers like george99@runbox.com in order to prevent spammers from guessing your email address. You can also set up Email Aliases to your username after you have signed up.

Password

Next, choose a password consisting of letters and numbers. Your password is case sensitive, and may contain uppercase letters. In addition, your password must be between 4 and 16 characters long. Good passwords contain a combination of letters and numbers, for example "p9goW3t".

You are then required to re-enter your password for confirmation.

Name

Finally, enter your first and last names. This will be the default name on your outgoing mail.

Optional information

In addition, you may provide us with further information. This information is optional and you may skip this section altogether. However, by giving us your correct country and time zone, you allow us to provide you with the correct local time of incoming and outgoing mail.

Virus and spam filtering

The checkboxes for Anti-virus and Anti-spam are checked by default. As a result, these services are activated immediately, and suspicious mail is filtered directly to your Trash folder, where you may delete them accordingly. You can modify these settings later at any time, under Manager:Filter.

Alternative email address

Next, you are asked for an alternative email address. We strongly recommended that you provide us with a valid alternative email address, since in the event that you forget your password we can email it to you at that address.

If you do not provide us with an alternative email address, you will not be able to retrieve your password in this way, and you will have to email password AT runbox DOT com and request your password manually.

Finally, we encourage you to read the Runbox Mail Manager Terms of Service before clicking the [Sign up] button.

Note 1: There is a limit of five signups per day per IP address.

Note 2: You may update your personal details (except your username) at any time, by clicking on the Account menu option while logged in.
